MEDIA RELATIONS TRAINING COURSE / INDIVIDUAL TRAINING PROGRAM
1 DAY – 8H

The aim of the training:

  • teaching and developing all the necessary skills required to efficient media relations,
  • practicing the expression abilities for a media interview,
  • tools necessary in preparing writings, interviews with journalists and media interviews,
  • dealing with stress and how to overcome it.

The character of the training:

  • practical training in the form workshops, activating all participants, interviews role- playing, (video recording and analyzing of the material – work with the camera),
  • during the training we use real situations connected with the company of the participants evaluation of each participant after the training.

TRAINING PROGRAM 1 DAY – 8H

1. INTRODUCTION

2. THE MEDIA FOR US – WE FOR THE MEDIA
An overview on how journalists work and on their expectations toward companies’ public representatives. Rules of effective cooperation with media.

3. FACE TO FACE WITH A JOURNALIST – SIMULATION 1.
An exercise: a participant put in a „real situation” is to use all knowledge gained in previous module. His/her meeting with a journalist is recorded on video.

4. SIMULATION 1 – ANALYSIS
Individual feedback and comments. Propositions of correction and exercises.

5. BEING COMMUNICATIVE – RULES OF AN EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION

6. FACE TO FACE WITH A JOURNALIST – SIMULATION 2
An exercise: a participant put in a „real situation” is to use all knowledge gained in previous module.

7. SIMULATION 2 – ANALYSIS
Individual feedback and comments. Propositions of correction and exercises

8. A CONFRONTATION WITH A „DIFFICULT” JOURNALIST
A challenging exercise, where participant’s goal is to lead a conversation with a confronting journalist.

9. SIMULATION 3 – ANALYSIS
Individual feedback and comments. Propositions of correction and exercises.

10. AN EFFECTIVE DEFENCE
Rules and techniques of effective defence against an aggressive/manipulative journalist. How to not respond to a question? How to protect oneself against manipulation? Presentation of useful tools and techniques and putting them in practice in exercises.

11. FACE TO FACE WITH A JOURNALIST – SIMULATION 4
An exercise: a participant put in a „real situation” is to use all knowledge gained in previous module.

12. SIMULATION 4 – ANALYSIS
Individual feedback and comments. Propositions of correction and exercises.

13. SUMMARY OF THE TRAINING, ENDING
